TRADITIONAL TATTOOS We can no longer say that tattoos are becoming more mainstream these days. Tattoos are mainstream. Tattooing has been around (as proven by scientists) for 10's of thousands of years. How can we even fathom 10,000 years ago? We know it wasn't the drunken ole' sailors that started the tattooing. The one aspect of tattooing that remains unchanged is the fact that tattoos are placed on the body for meaning. The meaning behind each tattoo is strictly up to the individual receiving it. The only shameful tattoos are the ones that are done by poorly skilled artists and the individuals who shop by price rather than professionalism and abilities. At The Blue Hue we follow all of the Iowa Department of Public Health Department standards. All of our set ups are individual patron, all needles are disposed of within medical waste guidelines and incinerated, all inks are disposed of after use. We pride ourselves in Bloodborne Pathogen Standards and have been certified through OSHA regulations. We promote safety, excellence, and professional business ethics. No client will ever feel unwelcome, or intimated. We have the right to refuse service to anyone. We take pride in our business and it shows. Please read "The Artist" page for information about our artist.
